Work Experience
Mr. Hwang provides insightful guidance and representation in handling business and corporate matters such as acquisitions, dispositions, mergers, buyouts, stock and member interest purchases and transfers. Mr. Hwang has extensive experience handling real estate transactions, both commercial and residential, including matters involving purchases, sales, leasing, and lender financing. Mr. Hwang has represented buyers, sellers, lenders, experienced investors, seasoned fix-and-flippers, joint venture business partners, and even first-time homebuyers in countless transactions and related litigation matters. While mainly focused on transactional work, Mr. Hwang has also represented individuals in Consumer Bankruptcy matters (Chapter 7 and Chapter 13), Landlord-Tenant matters such as evictions and ejectments, and related general Business Law matters such as real estate consulting; investment financing and structuring; and business entity formation, incorporation, registration, and structuring. Prior to joining Bertone Piccini, Mr. Hwang headed his own boutique law firm serving the northern New Jersey and greater New York City communities for nearly a decade.
Mr. Hwang received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, summa cum laude, from William Paterson University where he was awarded a full-tuition Presidential Scholarship. During this time, Mr. Hwang was also a recipient of the Pi Sigma Alpha award from the National Political Science Honor Society. Mr. Hwang received his Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall University School of Law, during which time he served as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Tonianne Bongiovanni, United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. Prior to and during law school, Mr. Hwang also worked as a law clerk at a bankruptcy law firm in Oradell, NJ and an estate planning firm in Kearny, NJ. Since joining Bertone Piccini, Mr. Hwang has concentrated his practice on business and corporate transactions, commercial real estate, and commercial leasing.
